I am a wife, mom and lover of animals and people. There is beauty around us if we look for it.
I have been married for 32 years. We have been blessed with our son, and twin daughters.
Life has not always been easy, but I always look for the sunny side to bring light to the world.
Spending time with my children has always been important to me, and I think my involvement in 4H is a perfect example of that.
The other nice thing about being a 4H volunteer leader, is that it allowed me to give back to this rural community and it forced me to follow the 4H model and “Learn to do by doing”.
Like many people I was always shy about speaking in public, but I learned by doing within 4H, and I’ve become far more comfortable with public speaking as a result.
(Isn’t that the definition of an entrepreneur — someone who learns by doing?)
My children, including my twin daughters are a lot like me and like to keep busy, for example one year my daughters were involved in 5 projects at the same time. Yes we did a lot of running that year but in the long run it was definitely worth it.
My 4H experience taught me something else that I apply to business, and that is “every step I take forward is moving me forward, even when I fall down. As long as I fall forward, I am still moving forward”.
I enjoy whippet dogs racing with my husband and friends throughout Western Canada and USA.
My racing whippet Gem is my very first dog. She lives with her sisters Annie and Queenie and always keep us entertained.
We have just added to the family another two Border Collie pups – Ben and Fly as their mom Sass has worked hard all her life as a working cattle dog and it is time to slow down.
I was raised on a ranch with cattle and horses and continue to enjoy that way of life with our own herd. Isn’t that the only way to live? Well, the way I like to anyways. Wide open spaces and beautiful horses grazing near by.
